FAQ

Does this PowerShell formatter upload my code?

No. Formatting runs entirely in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.

Is this a full PowerShell AST-based formatter?

No. It’s a lightweight formatter that focuses on braces-based indentation and whitespace cleanup, so edge cases may differ from IDE formatting.

Will it change my here-strings (@"..."@ / @'...'@)?

Here-string content is preserved (including braces inside it). Trailing whitespace inside here-strings is not trimmed.

What indentation rules are used?

Indentation is driven mainly by { and } outside strings/comments, plus a small extra indent for continuation lines and lines starting with |.

Can I convert tabs to spaces (or use tabs)?

Yes. Choose “Use tabs” for tab indentation, or leave it off to use spaces with your selected indent size.

Can I keep or normalize line endings (LF/CRLF)?

Yes. Pick “Keep as-is”, “LF”, or “CRLF” to match your repo or editor settings.

Why didn’t my block comment get re-indented?

Block comments (<# ... #>) are left as-is to avoid breaking carefully aligned comment content.
