FAQ
How do I calculate p% of a number?
Use “Percent of a number”: enter p and x, and the tool computes x × (p/100).
How do I find what percent A is of B?
Use “What percent is A of B?” The formula is (A ÷ B) × 100; B must not be 0.
What’s the formula for percent change?
Percent change is ((new − old) ÷ old) × 100. Old cannot be 0.
Is percent change the same as percentage points?
No. Percent change is relative to the old value; percentage points are an absolute difference between two percentages.
Can I use decimals and negative numbers?
Yes. Decimals and negatives work in all modes; the output keeps a compact precision.
Why do I get an error when the denominator is 0?
“What percent” uses B as the denominator and percent change uses old as the denominator; division by zero is undefined.
How do I copy the result?
Click “Copy result” to copy the main result line (for example “75%” or “132”).
